CHINESE NEW YEAR DRAMA 2013

What should I write for this Chinese New Year Drama? I was thinking of this during my one hour Batam - Tanjungpinang journey. Finally, I thought of presenting a drama entitled BCS. Again, the script was written in a hurry... phew.. There were two friends named Potong Lembu (Yohanes) and Bakar Batu (Crisna) visiting Batam for Chinese New Year. As both of them approaching the harbour, two ticket-salespersons (Amelia & Herphin) were shouting their Vessel names calling them to purchase their tickets. One shouts "Lamala" whilst the other shouts "Pergilah" which was eventually edited by Yohanes to "Barunaik" which I find quite interesting (I call it great editing). Before departing they had to meet a very interesting boy (Christnando). His acting was really very funny. This year, most interesting parts focus more on their acting skills, which is really very challenging.

Nagoya (Sisilia) whom just returned from Singapore wanted to go shopping at BCS (Batam City Square) while her friend Jodoh (Nana) preferred going to Kepri Mall. Batu Aji (Aviel) also wanted to go to BCS. Jodoh was puzzled why everyone preferred BCS. Upon the arrival of Potong Lembu and Bakar Batu, Potong Lembu explains that BCS is known for its sexy ladies as its stands for "Banyak Cewek Seksi" meaning lots of sexy ladies.

Another scene acted by Christnando and Daniel demonstrates how bad and inconsiderate some Batamese choose to park their cars. Another scene portrayed how competitive shops are in Batam. Pirated DVD seller (Herphin) presents his wonderful acting. This time, he no longer acts as pretty lady as this role as been assigned to Howard (I was surprised that he is willing to take the role). His mom even bought him a wig. I love Herphin's way of saying "Achak... Achak... Achak...).

Sherly, Karren and Ryan act as shopper confidently. Unfortunatly, Jane who can act very well cannot continue her act since she is not in Batam on that particular day. However, Sherly, Karren and Ryan's willing to act as shoppers are indeed great help.  I believe the way they walk and smile adds joy to the audience. Howard looks really pretty in his wig. He is really very confident in playing his role. He will bring much smile to everyone present. In fact, I do not intend for this scene, however since, most teenagers want it and Howard himself willing to play the role, I am more than happy to fit in.

Then the dress-seller (Ina) has a very sweet voice. The way she acts surprises me. She is really very confident and play her role lively. Then the pirated-game seller (Amelia) presents her pirated games so encouragingly, attracting buyers to buy her games. The book-seller (Hanna) is another breakthrough. She can speak so fast that surprises everyone on the scene.

The drama presents that BCS is not Banyak Cewek Seksi, nor Bini Cari Suami, Batam Cari Sensasi but it is Believe in Christ's Salvation.

Special thanks to
Producer (Kevin) who did much in arranging the rehearshals.
Director (Ellen) who provided some cheese to the dialogue
Choreographer (Seanne) who improvises the actors and actresses
Music Editor (Hendry Wibowo) who chose the soundtracks and designed the trailer.
Script Editor (Yohanes) who joins the acting crew. His acting is splendid.
Camerman (Simon) who helps videoing as well as designing the two cars assisted by others. He also designed the movie posters and banners.

Christmas Drama 2010

This was my first Christmas drama entitled "Lonely Christmas" starring by Jolies Dicky, Sarah Byuti Cendana, Brenda and Vera. The story began by adopting the idea from the first scene of UP (Disney) with no dialog but only acting accompanied by music. The first scene of the drama portrayed A Wen's narcissistic mom (Seanne) and his busy dad (Ryan). I purposely portrayed his dad's ambiguous relationship with his secretary (Lymei) to keep the audience guessing. A Wen (Jolies Dicky) was not given any opportunity to share his success at school and at martial arts to his parent. Being lonely at home, A Wen was disturbed by a mouse (Simon Hartono) Feeling sad and disappointed for not being able to celebrate Christmas with his parents, A Wen wondered alone on the street.

The second scene portrayed a fierce lady (Rahel Kristy) sternly commanded her three orphans Happy (Sarah), Venny (Vera) and Wennie (Brenda) to sell flowers on the street. The orphans in the orphanage had a very hard life under the freaky and fierce lady, the care giver. Out on the street A Wen sat alone at the corner. An old lady (Ellen) appeared (fascinated all audience). Happy offered flower to her but the lady turned down as she could not afford to buy. Happy gave the old lady a flower risking to be severely punished by the orphanage caregiver.

While A Wen was talking to Happy who shared about the joy of sharing, two gangsters appeared going to harm Happy's two friends. One of the gangster managed to kill Happy while she tried to protect her friends. This angered A Wen, and he fought off the two gangsters (Kevin & Lorenzo). A Wen cried when he found out Happy had passed away. This event changed A Wen's perspective on life. He learnt to share instead of feeling sad and lonely. He shared his kungfu skill to his friends.

This drama received much critics as well as appraisal (but not in Rottentomatoes). Kungfu fighting was incorporated into the drama. We spent a few months practicing the fighting. One of the gangster (Kevin) had to practice being slapped by Happy for numerous times. Lorenzo learnt the action pretty quickly, he was indeed a fast learner and a good actor. The orphanage care giver (Rahel) a very soft voice girl had to practice shouting which was very tough for her. An a little girl (Ellen) had to dress up as an old lady with white hair walking on a stick that invited lots of laughter. The supporting actresses such as Rahel, Tanti and Cindy acted really well in the drama. Thumbs up for them. Besides being the main actor, Dicky was also the choreographer for the drama. I enjoyed writing and directing this drama as so much fun happened during the practice.

Completion of Chinese New Year Drama Script 2012

Finally, I have completed the drama script for Chinese New Year 2012. The story is the continuation from the previous story. Last year's story ended in the wedding of Gong Xi (Hendry Wibowo) with a Japanese girl Shizuka (Herphin). Thus his mother (Sarah Byuti Cendana) expected to have a dragon son this year while her son preferred to postpone it to later years. The mother was also worried about one of her daughters named Shuang Xi (Brenda) who had not had any boyfriend yet, urging her to get a boyfriend while she preferred to be single. Well, as usual, her children gave her "headache" during Chinese New Year.  The mother asked Shuang Xi to get fresh chicken from the wet market. Unwillingly, Shuang Xi got to the wet market and soon found out she had to compete with another buyer (Crisna) to purchase the chicken. Upon her arrival at the wet market, the chicken seller was performing a chicken dance. The chicken seller (Ryan Kurniawan) could not decide to whom he should sell his last chicken to and eventually he requested them to compete in dancing. Whoever won, got the right to purchase the chicken.

After the dancing was over, the chicken seller just remembered that his wife at home had not had any chicken yet, therefore he decided to keep the chicken for himself and returned home. Feeling disappointed, Shuang Xi returned home empty handed. She suggested her mom to call KFC instead. Shuang Xi's father (Simon) after hiding himself in the fridge for one year had turned into "Dragon Ball Z". His appearance shocked his wife. He brought with him some street dancers to perform at home.

This is a simple story that is clothed in music and dancing. As we only had two weeks for the practice before performance, I had to make the story as simple as possible for everyone. I will focus more on music and dancing. Hopefully, the teens can perform well. By the way, at the completion of the script, I just realize the story sounds like KFC advertisement. We can consider to sell the idea to KFC if they are interested. KFC Chinese New Year advertisement!

Youth Singapore Tour

We organized a 2 nights holiday tour to Singapore on 4-6 June 2011. Everyone was so excited although it was a tiring journey. Lots of walking and eating. We set off from Batam Centre in the morning and check in at the hostel upon arrival. We went for lunch and movie - Transformers 3. We went for a long walk after the movie that caused everyone to be very exhausted and hungry. A big happy meal cheered everyone up. We had a very good reflection, sharing and prayer at night. Lots of funny jokes accompanied by super smelly fart by anonymous.
The next day, we had another happy breakfast, and then visited Singapore Science Centre for a whole day fun. Everyone's heart was filled with laughter and joy. Again, we had another happy dinner followed by reflection, sharing and prayer. The next day, everyone was so tired and woke up very late. Well, we had a great lunch afterwards and visited Sentosa for phototaking. I was amused by the special photo taken to match the colour of the T-Shirt with the monorail. Interestingly, someone in the group had a very special "Doraemon bag". The bag was surprisingly small but yet it could contain all the clothing and necessities for her for a 3 day journey. I guess she was much better than Mr. Bean in packing.

Christmas Party 2011

Today we held a special Christmas Party for the church's teenagers. We sang praises, having fun and games. We  even had fashion show. So many people were embarrassed to perform in the fashion show. There was also time for exchanging gifts and movie. Astonishingly, they watched two movies simultaneously - LIMITLESS followed by MY SISTER'S KEEPER. Afterwards, we could see they were having lunch with very great appetite. We chose to end our program by playing "water war"  in the afternoon - a very fun time to get wet. What a fun day!

Camp Remaja 2010

Saya sangat kagum atas pelaksanaan Camp Remaja 2010. Saya menemukan anak-anak remaja memiliki semangat belajar yang tinggi. Setiap anggota bekerja sama dengan sangat baik selama Camp berlangsung. Para remaja tidak hanya mempelajari tentang “Precious in the eyes of the Lord” yang mengupas mengenai ego, being dan self-esteem secara teoritis, akan tetapi mereka benar-benar mempraktekkannya.

Forward!
